The Baxter Family Competition on Federalism will be returning for a 3rd edition in 2020-2021. The overarching goal of the Competition is to advance research and foster informed debate on federalism.
Considering the proliferation of writings, blogs, videos, and other media exploring the intersection between COVID-19 and federalism, the Peter MacKell Chair in Federalism team has created a webpage attempting to compile them.

In 2014, the International Association of Centres for Federal Studies (IACFS) inaugurated the Young Scholar Award, an annual award for the best unpublished article or paper on an aspect of federalism. In 2015, this award was renamed in honour of Ronald L. Watts.
The 2019 IACFS Conference will take place on October 17th and 18 th, 2019 in Speyer, Germany. The directors’ meeting will be held on the day before the conference. The theme this year is “Unity and Diversity of Civil Service in Federal and Unitary/Decentralised Countries”.
